Activities
We encourage all our students to get involved with other activities as well as academic study.  All our IB students have to take part in ‘Creativity, Action, Service’ as part of their course, and we like our A level students to undertake some ‘CAS’ as well.   There are a variety of activities on offer in school and many of our students give willingly of their time.
Activities include:

  • Young Enterprise
  • HOGS – Hayesfield Organic Gardening Society
  • Age Concern group
  • Debating
  • Lesson Support with lower school pupils
  • Rose Cottage in Twerton
  • Christian Union
  • Lunchtime activities for lower school pupils
  • People & Planet

Students are also involved in

  • HOST – the school choir
  • Wind Band
  • Big Band
  • Being Prefects
  • Sports teams

Senior Prefects and Head Students

Opportunities are offered to all Sixth Formers to exercise leadership.   During the second term in Y12 invitations are issued to become a Senior Prefect.  The Senior Prefect team plays a vital role in the life of the school, acting as Student Ambassadors on public occasions and supporting other Year Heads and Form Tutors.    The Head and Deputy Head Students are chosen from the team of Senior Prefects after nomination by members of the sixth form and staff and an interview with the Head Teacher.
