School Travel Plan (PDF)
As a school we have a responsibility to promote safe and sustainable travel by all members of our community. We are also keen to campaign for a better environment for the local community to make the area a safer place to live in.
The School Travel Plan has been updated after consultation. We will continue to review and update the plan regularly.
We are working with parents and local Councillors to deliver sustainable travel solutions for the local area.
Our key aims:
- Reduce Traffic speeds on local roads
- Improve the walking environment and create a safe crossing for students, staff and all members of the community
- Campaigning for the route of the Bendy Bus to be altered and moving bus stops, particularly at the junction of Lower Oldfield Park and Upper Oldfield Park
- Lobby for the reopening of Victoria footbridge
- Continue to educate pupils about road safety & provide opportunities for Cycle training
- Stop vehicles mounting the pavement on the railway bridge on Brougham Hayes
- Improve Bus provision for pupils
- Provide bicycles for staff to reduce car commutes between sites.
- Lobby for the removal of the bin outside the pedestrian entrance into the Upper School site.

Park & Stride
As part of our efforts to create a safer environment for our students, staff and parents we are actively encouraging parents to consider where they drop their children off in the mornings and where they collect them in the afternoons. Some parents stop outside the school buildings and cause a significant hazard for all road users and pedestrians. Please ensure you drop your daughter at a safer place and allow her to walk a short distance to the school buildings. We encourage all parents to use the Homebase Car Park as a drop off and collection point and allow their daughters the chance to Park & Stride using the crossing point at the junction of Lower Bristol Road and Brougham Hayes.
Please help us to make the environment safer for everyone.
